The Oregon Building Officials Association (OBOA) is seeking nominations for individuals to serve on the 2026/2027 OBOA Board of Directors, the governing body of this active, non-profit professional association.

We are looking for dedicated building safety professionals with leadership skills, to provide their valuable time and expertise and thoughtfully represent the membership and association as a whole. Please consider nominating someone who will diligently serve and help steer the course of OBOA well.

Nominees must be a current OBOA member representative and demonstrate a commitment to board activities and responsibilities. Serving on a volunteer board such as OBOA often proves to be exceptionally rewarding professionally and provides unique opportunities for career enhancement and growth.

Volunteering can also be a great place for experienced leaders to give back and contribute to a continued bright future for the profession. Our industry is ever changing with exciting opportunities for growth and advancement.

Per OBOA Bylaws, Article XI, Section I, the OBOA Nominating Committee will present its recommendations for officers and directors to the membership a minimum of 60 days prior to the OBOA Annual Business Meeting (ABM) on July 23, 2026.

The terms for officers (President, President-Elect, Secretary/Treasurer, and Immediate Past President) are for one year and At-large Director terms are for two years (three staggered director positions). The elective year runs from this year's OBOA Annual Business Meeting (July 23-24, 2026) through the 2027 OBOA Annual Business Meeting. Installation of the new board takes place annually at the ABM as outlined in OBOA Bylaws, Article IV.

Please consider nominating someone who will provide insightful leadership to OBOA. Members can nominate another member from any jurisdiction as it does not need to be "from within" and self-nominations are also accepted.

Nominations due by Friday, May 1, 2026.

Thank you for your support of the Oregon Building Officials Association and for taking the time to submit a nomination. Your voice is very important!
Please note nominees for board positions shall submit a letter of authorization to serve prior to installment.
